I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. —Psalm 34:1

Psalm 34:1
I (David) will extol the LORD at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.

None of us can say that we praise the Lord at ALL times! I wish that we could claim this, but we are human and as such we have times of discouragement and other trials and problems that steal our praise from the Lord. However, our heart purpose certainly should be to praise Him no matter what our current circumstances or feelings are!
David well understood that he should praise God at all times, even though we know from Scripture that he definitely went through times of discouragement and lack of faith.

So, why are we to praise and thank God? Because salvation from sin is a gift of such great value that it should cause us to thank our Father God continually! Praise and thanksgiving should never be far from our mouths and minds. After all, we can never praise and thank Him too much. It will take all of eternity to thank Him as we should!

1 Thessalonians 5:18
Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Don’t you love it when your child or grandchild thanks you for something you do for them? It is a wonderful feeling, isn’t it? Well we, as God’s children, should thank our heavenly Father every day for all that He has done, is doing, and will do for us! Have you thanked Him today? He is just waiting to hear from you!!

Colossians 3:17
And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

Ephesians 5:20
And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Father God, where do I even begin to thank You for all that You have done for me?! Thank You for sending Jesus to die for my sins, thank You for providing for every single need that I have, for never leaving me or forsaking me, and for Your faithfulness to me in all things. I love You so Abba and give You all praise this day, Amen!
