Fear the Lord, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing. —Psalm 34:9

Psalm 34:9

Fear the LORD, you His saints, for those who fear Him lack nothing.

The “fear” being spoken of here is a respect for God. It is giving Him His rightful place. That rightful place is the very center of our lives each and every day. It is seeking His will and not our own (Matthew 6:33).

You see, God desires a close and personal relationship with us. He does not want to be pushed to the back burner, so to speak. Neither does He want us to be flippant about our relationship with Him. We are to give Him the respect that He so richly deserves! Praying to Him often and obediently applying His Word to our lives, living out our faith in Christ (Romans 12:1-2).

When we do this, we are told here and in many other places in the Bible, all our needs will be met. He is a good and loving Father and would not let His children, who are looking to Him for provision, go without!
Psalm 103:13
Just as a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.

So, it all boils down to this; respect God’s authority and place in your life. Give Him center stage with your eyes fixed on Him and everything that we need in this life will be provided for us. This does not mean every “want” in life, but each NEED. Aren’t you glad that we have a God who is present in our lives?!

Father God, thank You for Your constant and perfect care of me. Thank You for loving me and for sending Jesus to shed His blood for my sins on the cross at Calvary. Help me to give You Your rightful place in my life each day Abba for I love You so. I give You all honor, glory, and praise this day, Amen!
