Isaiah 54:17

Isaiah 54:17
“No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from Me,” declares the LORD.

It may appear to us that evil is prevailing in our world. That Christians are not “winning”. But many times throughout God’s Word we are told that evil will not have the victory over those who are God’s children. Mankind may take our earthly bodies, but they can never touch our souls for they are secure in Christ who defeated death and sin at the cross of Calvary! This is a promise from God found in John:
John 10:28-30
“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”

This is one of my very favorite passages of Scripture in the whole Bible. There is no mistaking that there is eternal security for every true believer in Jesus Christ. Many false teachers will try and twist God’s Word to tell us we can lose our salvation, but this, along with other verses in Scripture, assure us that once we are His children through faith in His blood for the forgiveness of our sins (Romans 5:8-9, Ephesians 1:7, and 1Peter 1:18-19), we can never NOT be His blood-bought child. When Jesus says that “no one can snatch them from My Father’s hand”, we can believe Him!

“I give them ETERNAL life, and they shall NEVER perish”, this is one of several verses in the Bible that states we have eternal life. When we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, we have God’s promise on it. John 3:16, John 5:24, John 6:47, John 11:25-26.

Definition of eternal:
1. Lasting or existing forever; without end.
2.Valid for all time.

Knowing this, that our souls are safe in Christ, and that nothing will prevail against God’s children, we can live our lives boldly for Christ no matter how evil our society becomes around us. God has our backs, and He will vindicate His people!

Thank You Jesus for Your finished work of redemption for me on the cross at Calvary. Help me to be attentive to Your Holy Spirit and to live my life in obedience to Your Word for Your glory. I love You so and I praise You this day my Redeemer, my King of Kings, and Prince of Peace, Amen!
