Verse of the Day

Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the LORD God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is. —Amos 5:14

Amos 5:14

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

What are you seeking to gain out of today? Do you seek good? Or will you pursue evil? Sure, we often don’t call what we do evil, but isn’t that what evil does? Nursing a grudge, spreading some gossip, or feeding a lust is evil, isn’t it? God longs to be with us. He has promised never to leave us or forsake us. But where God goes, his character, righteousness, and goodness must follow! That means we MUST seek good!

My Prayer…

Good and loving Father, thank you for showing me what goodness looks like by sending Jesus. Thank you for filling me with your Spirit so I can produce your good spiritual fruit. Thank you for putting me within the Body of Christ, your people, so I can have opportunities to do good deeds for those in need of care. But deep down, Father, I recognize that you alone are truly good. Please help me as I seek you, your character, and your goodness in my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

  1. The Lord says this same commandment so often in His word, He is really interested in us to do our best in our lives. He made us to be people of excellence, and gave us His word of wisdom for us to learn how to live and to relate with others. He says in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” Our God is so good! He is a good good Father!”
We are His children, and He has predestined, called, justified, and glorified us. (Romans 8:3) He has great purpose for our lives!
“Seek good and live” says the word today. Seek His presence, for only from Him we receive life, He is the life, the way and the truth. Life is the consequences of seeking the good, and it is a good life! For when we seek His presence we are transformed into His image, our hearts desires are good desires too. The good tree produce good fruits! ( Matthew 7:17)
When this things happened in our lives, the Lord walk with us, for we walk according to His word, because our obedience to the word is like giving honor to Him. His presence in our lives means a lot. The Great I Am is with us! Now, He honors our obedience, He respond to our calls, to our call in need or when we share the Good News with others. He is the wine and we are the branches, without Him we are nothing and we cannot bear good fruits. (John 15:4-5) And the Lord says too that if we remain in Him and if His word remain in us we can ask whatever we want and He will give us whatever we asked. (John 15:7) But without Him we are nothing!

Heavenly Father thank You for your desires to be with us, and for giving your word to us to live according to your will. Please Lord forgive me when l fail to your word, that your Holy Spirit come and help me, to do better and better and bear fruits in remaining in You. This is your will Lord and l want to be and to do your will. Then your love will flows in me, your peace, your joy, new strength every day. This is the sign of your presence in me. Lord receive all glory, honor and praise for you deserve it. In the name of Jesus l pray, amen!
