Verse of the Day

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. —Psalm 107:1

Psalm 107:1

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

What do we have that won’t wear out, break, die, go out of style, or ever need repair? We can rejoice and give thanks because our life and future are tied to the Eternal Father, the creator of the heavens and maker of our world. Not only is God good, but he is also good to us. But more than just being good, he is loving, and his love will not wear out, grow old, fade away, or need repair.

My Prayer…

Thank you, El Shaddai, the great Almighty. You have given me your grace, showered me with your blessings, and promised that your love for me will live beyond the shadows of my few days on earth. Thank you forever. In the name of Jesus my Lord. Amen.

1 Note: El Shaddai means “God Almighty” or “God of the Mountains.”

  1. Psalm 107:1
    Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.

    We are instructed repeatedly throughout God’s Word to give Him thanks. When God says something once, we should listen, when He says it over and over again we had better pay close attention!
    You may ask, “Why does God tell us to praise and thank Him?”
    When we are praising and thanking God, we are focusing on Him, not ourselves. Nothing we do is ever deserving of the kind of thanks and praise that He deserves. He is due our eternal thanks for He is perfect and does more for us than we will ever even know until we are in heaven someday. God is our Protector, Deliverer, Sustainer, Provider…etc. He created us and loved us when we were so very unlovable;
    Romans 5:8
    But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

    God is good, and His love endures forever. Nothing in this world lasts forever. It seems that every time I turn around they are updating my computer, smartphone, and even my car’s computer! I do not like change, well God never changes (Malachi 3:6) and He will always love me for I am His blood bought child (Romans 8:35-39). There is such comfort in the fact that I can never exhaust God’s love for me. Nothing can ever separate me from God because of the blood of Christ that covers all my sins. Knowing this fact makes me want to live for Him and to have a thankful heart before Him each day as I rise and each night as I lie down.
    What a truly awesome God we serve! Have you given Him thanks today?

    Father God, thank You for Your never ending love for me. Thank You for rescuing me from myself and for giving me hope in a hopeless world. You are my all in all and I praise You this day for Your greatness. I love You so Abba, Amen!

God, My Need

Amen.
