John 14:6
Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
I don’t want to be any more exclusive than Jesus. But I do want to hear his voice. He calls me to find the way to the Father through him. I must also know that others must know him to find their way to the Father, too. How can we not be more passionate about those around us who do not really know Jesus as their Savior, Redeemer, Brother, and Lord? How can the first four books of our New Testament lie unread?
My Prayer…
Holy God and Righteous Father, give me a passion for Jesus and a heart that knows him in word, deed, and concern. In the name of Jesus, your mighty Word, I pray. Amen.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
This is one of my very favorite verses in all of Scripture. Our world teaches today that any “god” or religion that you are sincere about will, in the end, take you to heaven. Our verse for today puts that false teaching to rest! Jesus Himself says that He is the only way to God, and in return, heaven.
I heard a preacher give this analogy one time about this particular verse:
“If you went to your medicine cabinet for a pill to fix a certain ailment you had and just took any pill there trusting that it would eliminate your sickness you could actually do yourself more harm or even accidentally kill yourself, depending on what pill you took! However, if you take the pill that the doctor prescribed for your illness, you will feel better because it was made for the very problem that you are having.
It is similarly true that if you place your faith in a false god, you can be extremely sincere that that god can lead you to heaven, but in the end, you will be in hell. For God’s Word states that Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to God.” He is the only One who can atone for our sin to God.
Mankind had a big ailment; we were all born sinners and we needed a Savior to take care of our sin problem. When Jesus came and shed His blood on the cross at Calvary, that blood covers all who place their faith in Christ for the forgiveness of their sins, it is the only payment for sin that God will accept. Those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Savior can now come into the very presence of God because we are covered by His blood and forgiven before a Holy and righteous God.

This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.
God presented Him (Jesus) as a sacrifice of atonement through faith in His blood.
The world cannot stand it when they hear that Jesus is the only way to heaven, it is politically incorrect to even say such a thing, isn’t it?! But it is the truth and we who know Christ are to tell those in our lives who are yet unsaved of the saving power of Jesus and His great love and mercy towards them.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works so that no one can boast.
Thank You Jesus for dying for my sins, help me to live for You each day and to open my mouth and tell those around me of Your grace and mercy toward them. I love you so much my Redeemer and give You praise this day and everyday all the days of my life, Amen!
