Jesus the name above all names

In the book of Philippians 2, verse 9, God has given Jesus a name that is above every name — that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow.

The world is not worried about Jesus any more. We kill ourselves trying to make a living, looking for peace of mind in pills, puffing for popularity, pushing our way to power.

But the name of Jesus can make the sick get well and make the foolish wise. It can change us from bad to good and from good to better. Some atheists said that God is dead. But Psalm 14, verse 1, said a fool has said there is no God. If God is dead who killed him? Where was he buried? Who signed his death certificate? Who preached his funeral? What newspaper carried his obituary?

God is as real to us like he was to Adam and Eve. When we call His name He will answer us. Only Jesus can call light out of darkness, order out of confusion. Jesus came from nowhere because there is nowhere for him to come from. Jesus stood on nothing because there is nothing for him to stand on.

Many of us call him Lord but do not do His will. There are four kinds of people in the world:

  • People that call the name of the Lord but do not do His will.
  • People that do the will of the Lord but do not call on his name.
  • People that do not call on the name of the Lord and do not do His will.
  • People that call on the name of the Lord and do his will.

Some people will worship someone or something, but only God deserves our worship. Jesus is the captain of conquerors, leaders of lawgivers, head of the heroes, oversear of the overcomers, our hope and help.

Jesus is the only doctor that heals multitudes with no medicine and never charges any money for his medical works. When Jesus was dying on the cross, one of the thieves on the cross told him if He was the son of God He should come down from the cross. But the greatest miracle for Jesus is not to come down from the cross, but his coming out of the grave.

When Jesus died the sun refused to shine. Jesus was buried in a borrowed tomb. Jesus stayed in the grave long enough to clean it out and leave it empty. No power in hell can hold Him down because He has got all power in his hands.

The devil cannot drown Him in water for Jesus will work on water. He cannot be blown away by wind for the storm obeys His will. He will never break the ten commandments for you will find no fault in Him. We cannot avoid Him for He is standing, knocking at the door of our hearts trying to get in.

At the name of Jesus, every rich and poor, old and young, black and white, knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord. Many of us promise to come to Jesus after we finish what we are doing, but we have nothing to do but to come to Jesus now.

We need to seek the Lord while He can be found. Many of us are loosing our health trying to make a living and use the money we make to buy our health back. When our bank account is low our blood pressure goes up. If the Lord is my Shepard, that is all I want. I shall not lack for rest for he maketh me to lie down in green pastures; I shall not lack for peace for he restoreth my soul; I shall not lack for comfort for his rod and his staff comforts me; l shall not lack for food for he prepareth a table for me in front of my enemies; I shall not lack for thirst for he leadeth me  towards the path of still waters; l shall not lack for a security guard for He leadeth me through the valley of the shadow of death; I shall not lack for joy because my cup of joy is running over; I shall not lack for heaven because we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

That goes for you too. Peace be unto you. Hallelujah to the lamb of God… All Glory Belongs to our Lord Jesus Christ Always and forever…

If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

17 Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.

18 For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.

19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.

20 For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state.

21 For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s.

22 But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.

23 Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.

24 But I trust in the Lord that I also myself shall come shortly.

25 Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.

26 For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick.

27 For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.

28 I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.

29 Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation:

30 Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.

14 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the Lord.

There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.

Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the Lord is his refuge.

Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the Lord bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
