ISAIAH 41:10: HOW GOD GIVES US STRENGTH

ISAIAH 41:10

Right now, we live in a troublesome world—a world that demands us to go through it with strength. Sadly, we cannot always give ourselves the strength we need; and that’s alright, as we were not made to always keep our heads up and walk confidently during times of despair. But where do we find the strength that allows us to endure even our most troubling times? Perhaps you have been asking yourself this question, and if so, I encourage you to read this article as I share my favorite verse about strength, whether you are a believer of Christ or not.

What exactly defines having strength? Well, I believe that strength can be defined as the endurance to walk forward even during times of difficulty. Imagine yourself walking on a shaky bridge over a vicious stream, waves crashing over sharp rocks. If you have the will to walk on the bridge and see yourself on the other side, you have the strength to do so. You have faith. Doesn’t that sound frightening? If we cannot depend on ourselves to get the strength we need, then who do we depend on? The answer is simple. God. How do we know God will give us the strength we need? Let me share with you one of my favorite Bible verses that reminds us of the way God gives us strength—Isaiah 41:10.

In Isaiah 41:10, God says to “fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

I cannot emphasize enough how this is one of my favorite verses about strength! In this passage, God reminds us in comforting words that He will always be with us. He encourages us not to be fearful, as He will uphold us with His righteous right hand, allowing us to stand firm. He tells us to put our faith in Him, and that can be a daunting task, as you never know what may be on the other side of the bridge. But God wants you to have faith in Him. He wants you to encourage yourself and gather strength to allow Him to walk with you. Besides, doesn’t it feel amazing to know that you aren’t in your struggles alone? To know that someone is willing to walk along the bridge with you?

So, will you choose to walk alone over the bridges? More importantly, will you allow God to give you the strength you need to cross over to the other side? Will you allow yourself to have faith in Him? To put His righteous right hand on your shoulder, urging you to stand firm? Whatever your answers may be, I encourage you to have faith in the Lord. I encourage you to allow Him to give you the strength you need to get to the other side of the bridge, or in other words, to allow Him to give you the strength you may need to endure through your life troubles.
