A Sanctified Body Given to the Lord

Thus saith the Lord GOD, Say ye – I am Your sign…” Ezekiel 12:11 So that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:7

Ezekiel 12:11

Ephesians 2:7

Dedicated to God
Consecration is being ‘set apart’ for the Lord. Consecration is being separated for His plans and purposes. Many saints have been distinguished in this way – set-aside for His purpose. What is the motivation of consecration; what is the point of being set-aside? What is the reason for this distinguishing mark; what does this isolation mean? What does it mean to be sanctified – to be dedicated unto God?

Principle of Consecrated
The principle of consecration is that God might use that one as a sign –‘His sign.’ Not only as a sign of His immeasurable grace in the ages to come, but here and now, in the corner of the field where He has planted you. And every consecrated saint points in one-way or another to Jesus Christ.

Paul: Set Apart
Paul was ”set apart for the gospel of God” – he was consecrated unto God. And like so many before him, Paul was used of God as a sign to point to Christ. And like others before him he was required to suffer greatly – to be a ‘sign’. ”for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.” 1 Corinthians 4:9

Nehemiah: Set Apart
The world laughs at the one sanctified unto God – set apart to do His will. Just as the world scorned the dedication of Nehemiah as he built Jerusalem’s wall, And down through the generations Nehemiah became a sign in so many ways.

Moses: Set Apart
Moses was a sign to Israel,  through his life and through his disobedience! This humble man was used of God, to save His people from Egypt’s oppression. This great man was chosen and separated by God, to be His mouthpiece, And this consecrated saint was once disobedient – and had to be judged.. Oh! Moses, that great prophet of God was a sign to a nation.. even a sign that disobedience would be punished. Genuine consecration is not the easy route in life, but often a cruel and difficult path.

Jesus: Set Apart
The Lord Jesus Christ is the perfect example of a life, consecrated to God. He spent His earthly walk living His life through the power of the Father.. Every work He undertook, each word He spoke, was a sign of consecration to God. His was a life that signified the infinite wisdom, power and sovereignty of God, His was the life exemplifying God working in and through a man – He was a Man set-apart to God.

Christians: Set Apart
And He too, the great Creator of the universe became a ‘spectacle’ to men – a sign of suffering, affliction and ridicule, but also a sign of wisdom; a sign of power; a sign of great resurrection glory. And then the unimaginable happened – He transferred that responsibility… In John 17 we read: For their sakes I sanctify Myself… that they also might be sanctified through the truth. As Thou hast sent Me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.” John 17:18,19 The Lord wants us to be signs to the world – signs that His grace is sufficient. He desires His own to go the way of the cross – and to suffer and die. Maybe in the physical, but predominantly and principally in the spiritual.. ye are My witnesses .” Acts 1:8

Christ in Me
Being His witnesses does not necessarily mean going out and talking. Being a consecrated man or woman – ‘being a sign’ may not mean what you think. It may not mean becoming a missionary or starting a ministry… This may be a fraction of the call on a sanctified life. It means in everything we do – living the life of the Lord. It means in all that we say – that we say everything as from Him. It means Him working out His will and purpose in our lives, with no opposition.

Thy Will Be Done
Paul reminds us: let this mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus… Philippians 2:5  Isaiah prays: have Thine Own way Lord – Thou are the Potter , I am the clay. Isaiah 64:8 Thy will not mine be done in my life to the glory of God the Father – Amen

Christ In You
Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger (or weaker) men and women: for My strength is made perfect in your weakness. Do not pray for tasks equal to your power.. Pray for His power.. equal to your tasks.. For Thine is the power… Matthew 6:13 Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle, for you shall be the miracle – which is: Christ In You – the hope of glory Colossians 1:27

Bible References

11 Say, ‘I am [a]a sign to you. Just as I have done, so it will be done to them; they will go into exile, into captivity.’

so that in the ages to come He might show the [a]boundless riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

For I think, God has exhibited us, the apostles, last of all as men condemned to death, because we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to mankind.

17 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.

For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.

11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Psalm 62

62 Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.

He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.

10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

12 Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.
