Bible Chapters of the Day

You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. —2 Corinthians 9:11

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

An old saying says, “You can’t outgive God!” And this saying is true. The more we give to bless others and honor God, the more we have to give. Why does God bless us with riches? So we can share those riches generously with those in need, bring joy to those in despair, and give thanksgiving from all of these hearts to God.

My Prayer…

Father, thank you for providing me with so many blessings. May my use of your riches bring you glory and bring others a true and genuine blessing that will touch their hearts with your grace. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

  1. 2 Corinthians 9:10-11
Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

It is certainly clear that a person never hurts themselves by giving to the Lord! He tells us here that we will receive certain rewards for living in obedience to God’s Word. Every act of kindness has a reflex action. This is not just speaking of money, it covers many areas of our lives. Notice it says that we will be made rich in every way. The Lord will bless our lives in good relationships with people, great jobs, fruitful churches, and He will bless our ministry to Him! God promises multiple times in His Word that all our needs will be met, not all our “wants”, but all our essentials (Philippians 4:19, Matt. 6:33, Philippians 4:6). He is a good and loving Parent who cares tenderly for His children (Matt. 7:9)!

It is a good practice to get into to, giving financially to the work of Christ! I grew up in a home where this was done on a regular basis. My parents regularly helped those who were full time Christian workers. We had many missionaries and traveling preachers in our home as well, for mom and dad had the gift of hospitality. They also gave money to various charities that spread the Gospel around the world. And they did so cheerfully! This was an excellent example to me in my life and I am so thankful that I was taught that anything I have is God’s, not mine. My husband and I are the stewards of the money and possessions that God has blessed us with. When He lays on our hearts to share we do so with a glad heart!

I believe it is good to evaluate how we are doing in giving to God from time to time. Are we asking Him where we are to share? Are we thanking Him for all that He has blessed us with? God doesn’t need our money and possessions, He asks us to give so that it molds our hearts to be more like His. A heart that is selfless and willing to help others out of love for Him!

Father God thank You for the blessings that You bring to my life! I thank You for all my family, ministry, children, my company and all my relatives. I thank you for my awesome friends and the people you have brought into my life like TNT and church family! You have blessed me in so many ways and I praise You for all Your care and keeping Abba! I love You so and give You all honor and thanks this day, Amen!
