There are times in order for that blessing to come to pass; the Lord will allow us to go through trial after trial before He steps in. He will do this to allow us to see that we don’t have faith or don’t trust in Him as we should. It’s only when we lay aside our ideas, our plans, and come to an end ourselves; that we actually get out of the way so that the Lord can do what He needs to do. So often our striving to work things out in our own power hinders us from receiving all the Lord wants us to have.
It is not that He didn’t want to answer; He wants so much to supply our needs and more; and that is why sometimes He will allow it to appear that everything is blocked and barred. Oh, but praise the Lord, for He is not restricted by anything! He will open up a new way, if He has to bring abundant blessings to you when you have trust in Him. When you think all hope is gone; when you can see no way of getting an answer; then the Lord will step in and show us that He is more than able to bless you with not only what you have asked for, but more.
Hear what He says:
My Child, are you facing a situation that seems beyond hope? Have you tried so hard to work things out; but it appears that you are getting nowhere, and your faith is fading? If you are in this position, then I say to you, let go. Just take your hands off of it and commit it to Me. Once and for all, talk to Me about your concerns. Talk with Me about what you’re struggling with then leave it at My feet and rest in Me.
Say a prayer of thanksgiving and know that I will work it out. When you do this, you move self out of the way and allow Me the opportunity to move mightily on your behalf. Have childlike faith in Me and know that I won’t fail. Rest in Me; begin to praise Me in advance for the blessing. Then suddenly, when you least expect it; out of nowhere, your desires and requests will come to pass.
Oftentimes, you will find that I’ve exceeded your request; that I’ve done the impossible in your life. Then you will see that while you were worrying needlessly, I’ve been working on your behalf; quietly, behind the scenes to bless you and cause His joy to be upon your life.
I think this Scripture sums it up perfectly. Ephesians 3:20 says: Now to him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us… He wants us to have so much more.

21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
