BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY

“And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.” —Ezekiel 38:23

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

“They will know that I am the Lord,” is a familiar refrain in Ezekiel’s prophecies. Here it is also a horrifying one to his people who have been rebellious, sinful, and wicked. God is holy. The people who claim him as their God had better reflect that glory and greatness. They had better magnify God’s holiness. If they do not, God will do so even at their expense. God will be known as God. In a day when so many profane the name of God and use it so glibly in their reactions and frustration, this is a sobering reminder that even the name of God is holy. He will show his greatness and holiness.

My Prayer…

Forgive me, God, for not reverencing you as I ought and as you deserve. Please send a wave of renewal among your people to honor you and your holiness with greater passion and a deeper sense of awe. You are holy, righteous, majestic, mighty, and great. Help me display my honor to you more faithfully in my life and words. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

  1. Ezekiel 38:23
‘And so, I will show My greatness and My holiness, and I will make Myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.’

In this chapter we see God destroying His enemies and rescuing His people. Those nations and people who try to destroy God’s children will have the wrath of God to deal with. As it says in Isaiah 54:17, “No weapon formed against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from Me,” declares the Lord.

God and His holiness are certainly not observed by mankind. And those who reverence God are persecuted as well. But God always has His eye on His children and will vindicate them!
Satan is at work in the heart of every unbeliever, he is constantly trying to negate who God is. But God is great and holy, there is nothing satan and his demons can ever do to change God because the Bible says in Malachi 3:6 that God changes not!

One day this world will have to bow to and acknowledge Jesus Christ. One day God will send Him back to this world and He will not come as a humble little baby this time, He will come in all the majesty and glory of His Father God (Revelation)! He will destroy those nations and people who plot against Him and He will establish peace on this earth once and for all. I can hardly wait! Come Lord Jesus!!

Father God, I cannot fully understand Your greatness and holiness this side of heaven, but I do reverence You Father and I purpose to bow to Your will each day. Thank You for loving me even when I mess up and for sending Jesus to cleanse my sins on the cross at Calvary. I love You so Abba, and give You all praise, honor, and glory that You so richly deserve this day, Amen!
