Verse of the Day

But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children — with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts. —Psalm 103:17-18

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

Forever love is talked about in dime store novels, but this kind of love is only found in God. We tap that reservoir of eternal and divine love through the Holy Spirit who helps us both receive it and share it (Romans 5:5). The Lord asks us to share his love and righteousness with the generations that come after us. We do this by remembering what the Lord has promised to us and by obeying what the Lord called us to do so that future generations can see and know the greatness and graciousness of our magnificent God.

My Prayer…

O God of glory and grace thank you for your promises, your covenants, and your love. May I live in such a way that others, especially those who come after me in my family, know that your love is from everlasting to everlasting. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

  1. “But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children’s children, to such as keep His covenant, and to those who remember His commandments to do them”. Psalm 103:17-18 NKJV.

Mercy is an attribute that we may share with God. As did Christ, so can we, lay hold on the divine arm and be in communication with divine power. We have been given a service of mercy to perform for our fellow man and woman. In performing this service, we are laboring together with God. We do well, then, to be merciful, even as our Father in heaven is merciful.

“I will have mercy,” God says, “and not sacrifice.” Matthew 9:13. Mercy is kind, compassionate. Mercy and the love of God purify our soul, beautify our heart, and cleanse our life from selfishness. Mercy is a manifestation of divine love, and is shown by those who, identified with God, those who, serve Him by reflecting the light of heaven upon the pathway of their fellow brothers and sisters.

True Christians, in their dealing with one another, are to be controlled by principles of mercy and love. They are to take advantage of every opportunity to help fellow beings in distress. The duty of every true Christian is plainly outlined in the words: “Judge not, and you will not be judged: condemn not, and you will not be condemned: forgive, and you will be forgiven: give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over.” “As you would that men should do to you, do you also to them likewise.” These are the principles that we would do well to cherish. Luke 6:37, Matthew 6:14, Luke 6:38, Luke 6:31

Let those who desire to perfect a Christ-like character always keep in view the cross on which Christ died a cruel death in order to redeem all of us. Let them ever cherish the same merciful spirit that led the Savior to make an infinite sacrifice for our redemption. In Jesus Precious Name…. AMEN..
